Collect DATA

Our team will visit your property to collect information that is required to support your septic needs. This could include survey data, soil samples, review of existing infrastructure, soil conditions, building size, number of bedrooms, washrooms, etc.

Design

Next we review all of the available information and the requirements of the septic system to determine the most suitable septic solution for you and prepare the required design documentation / drawings. Completed by a qualified professional engineer.

Review

After the design is complete we review the documentation with you to ensure that you understand the septic system and can provide the design information to the installation or maintenance contractor of your choice.

The type of septic system that is required is based on a number of requirements consistent with the Ontario Building Code and considers soil conditions, precense of difficult conditions (shallow groundwater, bedrock, etc.), the size and nature of the building, and the amount of space available.

Septic systems can vary depending on the site conditions and can include a traditional system (septic tank, drainage field, raised bed, or shallow buried trenches) or a more advanced treatment type system (aerobic treatment, filters, etc.).

Currently OSS does not install septic systems, but we can work with your preferred local installer to ensure that they have the required information from the septic design and also collaborate with them on the design process to ensure that the system is suitable for their installation practices.

There are a number of factors that can influence the effectiveness of your septic system. Proper maintenance, cleanout, and care of the system is an important process to ensure the longevity of your system. Our team can assist with compliance sampling requirements and provide recommendations to optimize your septic system as required.
